She appeared in the mainstream media, including newspapers and television, shortly after her initiation in 2006. She was the first known non-Korean to practice as a Mudang, and her spiritual mother, Kim Kŭm-hwa, was such a famous K’un Mudang that no one questioned her decision to train a German woman to practice traditional Korean spirit meditation.
